Wife of Bath #4

LOTS of horses in this tale.  What would a HORSE symbolize in this period?  Might have to do some research to find this one.

  1. From what I can tell it had a strong symbol of strength and for courage. Many times they are connected with male persona. It seems to me it, since the horse was often used for war, this would be a centrol part of the story with the attack of the old religion with the new. The old religion was female dominate and the church was male dominate. That would explain the aggression toward women in the story.
